Like most farmers, we spent our childhoods immersed in the agricultural industry- participating in 4H and FFA, building fence, working brandings, and driving tractors. We eagerly learned traditional farming methods and, as developing ranchers, adopted them without question. Continuing to step into the boot tracks that were laid before us, and implementing these commonplace practices within our own ranches, would have been an easy feat.
However, in the fall of 2015, things began to shift.
Through our own observation and inquisition, we came to a monumental realization: current farming methods are in dire need of regeneration. A holistic approach that supports our local and global environment, has the consumer's health and best interest at heart, and aligns with the animal's true nature to forage and roam, was both crucial and scarce.
Hence, as emerging ranchers, we were faced with a dilemma. Do we turn a blind eye and rely on current, though adverse practices? Or, do we honor our values and beliefs, and forge our own path? The answer was self-evident.
CENTRAL COAST MEATS WAS BORN OUT OF A DESIRE TO CHANGE THE WAY WE FARM.
The generational gap in agriculture has never been greater, and we realize now is the time for us young farmers to make a difference.
Here on the ranch, everything aligns with our personal code of ethics: we create a product we are proud to serve our family, as well as yours. We uphold integrity and transparency until the cows come home, while consistently seeking innovation and advocating for consumer education. And, just like our name, our processes are 100% local— from feed sources to hatcheries, grazing to growth, and harvesting to packaging— everything happens on the Central Coast.

Rather than being dragged down by present standards, we strapping young lads are inspired to make a difference. We realize it is up to us to tread unchartered pastures, and lead consumers on our journey.
